Philodendron (Philodendron)

These houseplants are another beginner friendly option.

Typically they like bright, indirect light but they can stand tolerate more shade than other houseplants. A general indicator that a philodendron can be happier with less light is the darkness of the leaves- the darker the green, the less light needed. This makes the greener variety a good option for an office desk plant if you aren’t able to sit near natural light.

You are safe watering your philodendron every 1-2 weeks, just be sure to allow the soil to begin to dry out before watering again. If you notice yellow, droopy leaves you are most likely overwatering.
